Skread and AVG

A few friends and I have discovered that we can no longer run the Skread program, thanks to the AVG virus definitions installed perhaps on Saturday or Sunday, the 12th or 13th of this month. When we launch Skread, Windows XP reports an error involving a possible lack of permission to run the program. Hidden behind the error dialogue, I noticed an alert from AVG antivirus, indicating that Skread is or contains a virus, and that it is moved to AVG's vault. Can anyone suggest an alternative to Skread? Does AVG perhaps have a problem with Skread, in particular, or with any program developed with Autoit?

Thanks,

Dave H

Avg reported to me a problem and i didn't even had skread running at the time. I had the options to hill the infected file move it to the volt etc and i chose hill and it said that the program was successfully hilled. But i didn't try to run skread since then so i don't know if it is going to work if i do that. Sounds very strange to me. I don't think there is a virous in skread just avg thinks that skread has something wrong with it. Maybe we need to report this to avg. NVDa had a simmilar report and at the end the problem was in one of the pithon compilers.
I hope there is a solution to this.

I think it's because it's written in a language called autoit, which basically includes the hole script parser in the compiled executables, maybe AVG thinks it's a virus that's also written in autoit or something I dunno.

it wasn't autoIt, but the problem is fixed now. good thing too

well here's something interesting. my control centre doesn't show up any more on startup. but i can still see AVG scanning emails and the like. is the ctrl centre not running any more? or is my AVG screwed up? because it updates properly, it's scanning incoming messages and the like, i only noticed it this morning it may have been happening for a bit longer than this. anybody noticed anything like this?
